I am a former middle and high school science teacher. I have extensive experience with curriculum and assessment development, especially related to three-dimensional (NGSS) science standards. I have extensive experience working with and supporting middle and high school teachers to develop their teaching skills, especially related to community inspired, project and placed-based teaching and learning.
I am looking to join a team of similarly passionate people to support teacher practices and students' academic success.
I worked for the CREATE for STEM Institute at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, for 7 years as a post doc and then as an Academic Specialist focusing on middle and high school curriculum and assessment development and teacher professional learning.
In 2009 I received a master's in public health with a focus on health behavior and health education from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. In 2016 I received my PhD in secondary science education from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I was fortunate enough to obtain a post-doc position with the CREATE for STEM Institute at Michigan State University in East Lansing Michigan and then was promoted to an Academic Specialist.
The grant I was working on came to an end this past December 2024.
