Derek Zhou

As a chess coach, I have a passion for the game and a deep understanding of strategies and tactics. I have over 2 years of experience playing and coaching chess to players of all skill levels, from beginner to intermediate. I have worked with many children and I am able to adapt my teaching style to meet the needs of each individual student. I understand the importance of clear communication and I am comfortable in communicating with parents and guardians. I have experience in a mentoring capacity and I strive to inspire my students to not only improve their chess skills but also develop their critical thinking and problem solving abilities. My ultimate goal is to guide my students to reach their full potential and achieve their chess goals. I am excited about the opportunity to share my love for the game and help others achieve their chess aspirations.

I currently work for Impact Coaching Network and coach at multiple elementary schools and have over 2 years experience in coaching kids chess.

I am currently a college student working towards a Bachelors in Computer Science.
