Hi, I’m a recent Public Health graduate from Cal State Fullerton, and I’m nervous yet excited to start my journey in healthcare. My recent internship at Advanced Home Medical Inc. gave me valuable experience in healthcare administration, like verifying insurance eligibility, managing patient records, and processing claims. While it was a great learning experience, it also helped me realize I’m excited to explore roles that feel fulfilling and impactful, which I'm still figuring out.
I’m passionate about wanting to make an impact in the healthcare systems and outcomes. I enjoy collaborating with others, solving problems, and contributing to projects that make a difference in people’s lives. Outside of work, I like to learn new ideas, hobbies, life tips—whether it’s through exploring public health trends or personal interests like cooking and video games.
I’m excited to connect with others in the industry and take the next steps toward a meaningful career within public health!
I gained hands-on experience during my internship at Advanced Home Medical Inc. There, I developed skills in healthcare administration, including verifying insurance eligibility, processing claims, and managing patient records using QS/1 SystemOne software. Additionally, my medical assistant internship at Pacific Medical Clinic provided me with clinical experience, such as conducting vital assessments and operating a centrifuge for blood sample processing. These roles have honed my attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to collaborate effectively in healthcare settings.
During my time at Cal State University, Fullerton, I took interest in these 3 courses: courses included Epidemiology (PUBH 401), where I enjoyed analyzing disease patterns and learning how to address public health challenges; Public Health Planning, Research, and Evaluation (PUBH 475), which strengthened my skills in collaboration and program design; and Environmental Health (PUBH 415), where I developed a deeper understanding of how environmental factors influence community health. These classes fueled my interest and helped me narrow down what I may want to do in the future and prepared me to make an impact in public health.
