I’m Dillan Patel, professionally known as MNTRA (@mntra_music), a San Francisco–based music producer, DJ, and educator. I run a private music education practice and have spent over three years teaching 20+ students music production, DJing, and creative development. I also designed and currently teach a semester-long production and DJ curriculum for 5th–8th grade students at Marin County Day School, which culminates in a live performance. Alongside teaching, I actively tour and have performed at festivals including Lightning in a Bottle, Desert Hearts, and Shambhala, with an upcoming appearance at Coachella’s Do LaB stage. Teaching is a core part of my creative practice, and I’m deeply motivated by helping others build confidence and find their artistic voice.
I bring extensive, hands-on experience across the music industry, both on stage as a touring artist and behind the scenes in production, operations, and artist development. As a touring DJ and producer, I’ve performed at major festivals and events across the U.S. and Canada, gaining a deep understanding of live performance, crowd dynamics, and professional touring workflows. Offstage, I’ve worked in artist hospitality, event production, ticketing, marketing, and label operations, collaborating closely with promoters, agents, production teams, and creatives to execute shows at a high level. This dual perspective allows me to understand the full lifecycle of an artist—from preparation and logistics to performance and post-show follow-through—while maintaining a strong emphasis on professionalism, adaptability, and collaboration in fast-paced environments.
