Bartender

After spending many years pursuing an interest in craft cocktails as a hobby, I have recently completed a two week bartending course through Professional Bartending School DC in order to turn my passion into a career. Through the course I memorized over 100 cocktails while learning to work quickly and efficiently behind a simulated bar. Since then I have worked several events as a bartender, barback, server and seller to gain hands-on experience.
Before making this career change I had worked over a decade as a certified Pilates instructor. A position in which I was the face of the studio and which honed my customer service and public speaking skills. A typical group class or private session would start by welcoming clients to check on their goals, progress and any injuries to look out for.
Throughout the session itself I would have to pay close attention to each client and offer personalized corrections as needed, while keeping control and commanding the attention of the whole group.
At my most recent studio I took on a managerial role as the Lead Instructor, working to coordinate and evaluate our team of instructors to ensure that they could provide the best possible service to our members, organizing special events, and acting as a liaison to corporate management. I was also intimately involved in the sales process, showing new and prospective members the unique benefits of our studio’s approach to Pilates, informing them of our class schedule and booking appointments through our POS software.
I would love the opportunity to discuss what I can bring to your bar! I believe that my passion and skill for mixing cocktails and engaging with customers will make me a valuable member of the team.
