Emily Abramson

My greatest passion of the last 25 years (outside of motherhood) has been overseas adventures, accompanied by cultural and linguistic exploration. Between the years of 1997 and 2006, I studied and/or lived abroad in Paris, Tuscany, Santiago, Chile, China, and Northern India all through avenues I pursued independently. My first foreign stint was luckily enough my Senior year of High School in Paris, and it is no exaggeration to say that the experience revolutionized the way I see the world.

I hold an M.A. in Romance Languages and an Masters in Social Justice in Education. I am fluent in Italian, Spanish and French; intermediate in Mandarin, and beginning my journey to be proficient in ASL!

I've been a tutor for 21 years and an educator for going on 14.

Finding innovative, experiential and in all ways engaging ways to teach is my raison d'etre. (if you don't know that French idiom, I can help you out!)

I have a B.A. in Linguistics & Anthropology from UCLA.

I have an M.A. in Romance Languages from Stonybrook.

I have a Masters in Social Justice Education from SUNY New Paltz.
