Led two enterprise SQL Server modernization cycles (2008→2016 and 2016→2022), including migration of standalone servers to clustered architecture with zero unplanned downtime across databases up to 18TB. Reduced SSRS stored procedure execution times from ~30 minutes to under 15 seconds through index redesign and tempdb optimization.
Notebook-driven patch automation using dbatools PowerShell, designed multi-hop replication from a vendor AWS database through a DMZ to internal servers, implemented CIS Benchmark compliance automation, modernized ETL from SQL Agent to SSIS, and built Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines with PR validation gates. Built SOX compliance tooling for financial data auditability, engineered Azure SQL Database (PaaS) backup pipelines with audit logging to Azure Storage, designed bi-weekly automated restore workflows for non-production environments, and migrated SQL Server 2014 to 2017 via database mirroring with zero data loss. Provisioned and supported Azure SQL Database, Azure VMs, and Azure DevOps as part of a cloud modernization initiative.
