STE-3 (Test Engineer), Microsoft Edge - Web Platform Team - Microsoft

(2016-09 - 2018-03)

Comprehensive scenario-driven testing of Microsoft Edge web browser on PC, mobile (Android, iPhone, and Microsoft Phone), tablet, and Surface devices, developed using Agile/SCRUM methodology. Worked on the web platform team to develop a comprehensive suite of tests for the Microsoft Edge web browser. Tested the latest bulds on a wide variety of hardware to identify bugs, working with developers to verify fixes.

As new features were introduced, I proactively analyzed user impact and developed new user-specific scenarios while triaging older scenarios based on stability and maturity of the specific feature. Weekly test cycles also included build verification testing (BVT) of Microsoft Edge on the Mixed Reality Portal (Oasis) and HoloLens platforms. Use automated telemetry testing to measure performance.

Software QA Engineer, Black Flag UAT - AT&T

(2013-12 - 2016-06)

Black Flag UAT (user acceptance testing) in support of API Platform Development.

Black

Flag is a web-based application, http://developer.att.com, developed using Agile/SCRUM methodology. Each iteration of the SDLC, I work with my team to identify any software defects, regressions, and other quality issues, triage these defects with developers and verify fixes that developers create. I work with project managers, developers, and business owners during the sprint planning meetings.

I take the user stories from Rally, identify test requirements, and add them to HP Quality Center for the test team. I regularly update user stories and test cases as new functionality is onboarded. I wrote test cases, logged and tracked defects, and attended triage meetings.

I trained and supervised new members of the team and wrote training documents on Black Flag test operations for new hires.

STE-4 (Test Engineer), Device Management Team - Microsoft

(2012-07 - 2013-08)

SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) Device Management team faces the challenge of supporting various platforms in short release windows. Installation and configuration of SCCM back end (SQL Server & IIS certificate handling) for SCCM Mac client testing on both physical and VM clients. Configuring and updating Mac clients for use with inhouse test harness (SuiteP2 automation), setting up different server configurations to simulate simple and complex production environments.

Assist with onboarding BVT automation, conducting manual regression testing for BVT team, private Dev builds, dogfood and private benches. Investigated and triage product and test harness failures. Writing test documents and creating testing instructions for new hires.

STE-3 (Test Engineer), Windows Mobile - Microsoft

(2010-04 - 2012-06)

Self-Host acceptance testing on WM7 and Apollo embedded devices. SHA tests verify critical self-host scenarios which are not automated or cover scenarios which can only be reliably verified by a human operator. Utilized automated tests exercise the target components but do not go through the end-to-end scenario the same way a user will.

Self hosting is an important means for the product team to gauge the usefulness and usability of their ongoing work. In the past, dog food programs identified invaluable bugs that would have caused serious pain points for our end users. Given our current competition's attempted differentiation on usability, Self-Host becomes an even more important indicator of product health and fitness.
