Throughout my career, I’ve been deeply committed to advancing robust trade compliance strategies, and my role at UPS allowed me to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the compliance space. As the Vice President of FTZ Strategy and Operations, I led the creation of UPS’s Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) program from the ground up, designing a rigorous compliance framework that became operational across multiple locations in just six months.

Program Foundation & Compliance: I built the FTZ program’s core structure, ensuring it was firmly anchored in compliance across finance, HR, specialized systems, and policies. Compliance was our north star, guiding every aspect of program development and day-to-day operations.
Cross-functional Compliance Training: I developed and conducted training sessions for diverse teams, embedding compliance as a central priority and making sure that all operational staff were thoroughly versed in regulatory standards.
Strategic Compliance Direction: With a focus on the future, I shaped a long-term strategy for the FTZ program that emphasized compliance as a cornerstone of our expansion and IT infrastructure. By designing systems with compliance at their core, we ensured the program’s adaptability in a complex regulatory landscape.
