Flora Ronzone

My career in Costume Design started 25 years ago in Australia where I worked for both the Royal Opera and Ballet. Later I was to travel to London where I worked as a supervisor for the English Youth Ballet. I was fortunate enough to then move to Sacramento where I worked as a costume construction instructor and resident costume designer for Cosumnes River College where I was nominated for an Ellie Award for Best Costume for my work on Macbeth. I also worked as Design Assistant for California Musical Theater during their Music Circus season before finally moving to Los Angeles which I now call home.

Here I’ve worked in film, TV, commercials/advertising and video games and have owned and operated my own clothing business, Planet Chaotika.

Costumes are one of my greatest passions. I find it exciting to create a character with clothing. Costume can show the characters flaws and strengths and growth.

In the 25 years I’ve worked with costumes I’ve risen from maker to supervisor to designer. I have a solid understanding of patterning and how to create the desired silhouette to fabric sourcing and construction, sketching/Illustration and the realization of the final garment.
