My name is Garen Schaefer this past February I began my 29th year in Florida public Education. I began my career fresh out of college in 1995 and, while only 50 years old, look forward to many more years in education.
Over the years I have taught in Manatee, Desoto, Hillsborough, and Sarasota County. I have an EdS Degree as well as my Master's Degree in Education.
Over the years, I have held a variety of positions including: testing co-ordinator, elementary teaching and guidance, ESE couselor, middle & high school guidance, elementary ESE inclusion and resource, and most resently served in guidance and Adult ELL Level 4 at Suncoast Technical College in Sarasota.
I have Bachelor's Degree from Florida Southern with my degree in Elementary, and Specific Learning Disabilities. My Master's Degree is from University of South Florida in Guidance Counseling, and my Educational Specialist Degree is from Nova Southeastern in Educational Leadership.
