Undergraduate Researcher at Rice University | Gustin Lab (2024-10 – Present)

Conducting research focused on studying the interactions between the host animal and microbe, specifically coral, and how they might change under systems of stress. By investigating bacterial probiotics and genetic engineering tools of algae, we hope to improve the tolerance of heat of coral, thus reducing levels of coral death and bleaching in broader oceans in current events of climate change.

Dental Assistant Intern at AL Dental (2022-10 – Present)

Gained hands-on experience in the dental industry by being exposed to the daily operations in the dental office. Assisted the dental team by applying to patient care. Prepared treatment rooms and sterilized instruments used for operations, escorted patients to the treatment areas, and organized dental materials and equipment for procedures. In doing so, provided chairside assistance to the dental during examinations. Worked an average of 15 hours per week.

Nursing Home Volunteer at Cypress Creek Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center (2022-10 – Present)

As a Nursing Home Volunteer, I played a compassionate and vital role in improving the quality of life for residents of a nursing home or long-term care facility. Commitment to providing companionship, support, and assistance to elderly or disabled residents enhanced their overall well-being and create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere. This volunteer position offered a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals in need of care and companionship.
