I am a lead transactional lawyer across multiple complex deals. I began as a tax attorney in Kenya taking time understanding tax codes, applying them to structuring deals and resolving tax disputes. I transitioned into transactional and legal advisory work which laid the foundation for inhouse legal practice at a Pan-African energy financing company where I applied my commercial and tax law experience in project finance and energy.
Working with engineers, business teams, and management to bring real energy projects to life is where I discovered my passion for infrastructure, energy, and project finance. I saw firsthand how good legal structuring can unlock capital and move projects from concept to reality. I then craved international exposure and to specialize in deal making, energy and project finance.
So, I joined Duke Law where I received thorough practical legal education in M&A, structuring financial transactions, energy law and quality legal writing. I also explored AI policy and joined energy access and just‑transition initiatives across Duke.
