Hi,
My name is Jenny Valiente, and I graduated Fall 2022 from UCF with my bachelors in communication sciences and disorders. Throughout this time in school I volunteered at Aphasia House in which I met incredible human beings who have unfortunately suffered from strokes resulting in fluent or non-fluent Aphasia. I also worked at school with children with disabilities and learned so much from them.
I was able to help assist in implementing structure, behavior strategies, and creating a bond with these great kids. I then landed a job as an SLPA in which I have absolutely loved my patients and am extremely motivated to assist them reach there speech and language goals. I also do theatre as a hobby, and love connecting with others.
I am bilingual as my first language was Spanish. Thank for taking the time to read this.
My relevant professional experience involves me working at UCP for a year and 2 months and working an in inclusion classroom involving students with cerebral palsy, down syndrome or autism as well as kids whom are neurotypical. I was able to assist them in communicating their needs, implement structure and assisting them with their needs within the classroom.
I studied communication sciences and disorders which involved of studying, learning, and retaining information involving in anatomy, speech science, language science, phonetics, and more. I was able to receive a 3.5 GPA in my classes that were dedicated to speech language pathology. I also volunteered at Aphasia House at UCF.
