I am a UK-born, veteran shipbuilder, having served an apprenticeship as a Loftsman in the famous Scott Lithgow shipyard on the Clyde in the mid-1980s.
I have extensive experience in structural steel design and detailing, and I have lived and worked in San Diego, California, continuing my long caree in shipbuilding since emigrating from Scotland in 1995.
I am a recognized expert in all aspects of AVEVA Marine Hull Design software, and I have a broad knowledge of the entire steel fabrication process.
Aside from 3D modeling and Structural Design expertise, I have a strong reputation for innovation and problem solving and a firm refusal to accept “it can't be done!”
