John Earley

I graduated from UW-Madison in 2022 with a degree in journalism along with certificates in sports communication and entrepreneurship. Over the past handful of years, I have enjoyed being a breaking news writer, social media coordinator and sales professional. One of my passions is sports, specifically football, and I run a fantasy football consulting service as a side hustle (find me at fantasyformula.org).

Another passion of mine is AP style, and I will continue the fight against the oxford comma for as long as it takes until the masses see the light.

During college, I began my professional career in communications with two different fantasy sports companies, RotoWire and PlayerProfiler. At RotoWire, I wrote breaking news updates on players primarily in the college football and college basketball departments, though I wrote for many other sports as well. At PlayerProfiler, I managed all the social media accounts (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube), and created around eight unique pieces of content every day.

After graduating from UW-Madison in 2022, I went into sales. From August 2022 until April of 2023, I worked as an appointment setter for Apollo Energy Company, a solar brokerage operating mainly on the east coast of the United States. This involved cold-calling homeowners for eight to ten hours a day, including weekends.
