I worked as a music executive for Warner International in Japan and was responsible for media and marketing campaigns throughout Japan and Asia. I worked in Japan for five years as a Music Executive and also was a music journalist for various media outlets in Japan and the United States. I then returned to the United States and worked with Japanese companies to promote Karaoke events in Atlanta and other cities throughout Georgia.
I was the first foreigner hired to work in Alfa Moon Records, which was later merged with Warner Music Japan. l later introduced Hip Hop to Japan and became a representative for breaking NWA, and all of the Death Row artists into the country. I later worked for Sony Records and worked with the President of Sony to allow more women to get into management because of my advocacy for women rights. I am a visionary and mover of mountains.
But most importantly, I love music across a wide array of genres, from Hip Hop, Rock and Roll, Urban, and Jazz.
I have worked for two Record Labels during my time in Japan. I served as a Music Executive responsible for Marketing, Promotions, and A&R for Warner Music Japan and later I served as the Director of International Music at Sony Music Japan. During my time in Japan, I was a music journalist for various media outlets (Japan Times & Black Radio Exclusive) and later after returning to the United States, taught about the music business in various schools that I worked.
I eventually worked in Higher Education for the past 20 years, but have a deep desire to work again in the music industry.
I have a Bachelors degree in Business Administration (Morehouse College) , a Masters degree in International Relations with a minor in Japanese Studies (International University of Japan), a Masters in Educational Administration (Harvard School of Education), and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration (University of Texas at Austin).
