I am a mathematics teacher with 5 years of experience looking to transition into an executive assistant or project manager role. I have excellent communication and organization skills. I am a self-starter that thrives in fast-paced environments.
In addition to teaching, I also have been a private governess to a family of 6 over the last 5 years, and I have been working as a bartender (and front of house manager) for three years. These experiences have further developed my flexibility, problem-solving skills, and multi-tasking abilities.
I've been working at York Country Day School for the past three years as an Upper and Middle School Mathematics Teacher. I have been responsible for developing new curriculum and materials for all courses I have taught. Teaching involves presenting material, creating assignments and assessments, managing data for each individual student, protecting confidential information, and serving as an advisor/mentor to the students.
Before YCDS, I taught for one year at Northeastern York School District and had a one-year contract at Radnor Township School District, which had similar requirements but required less individual responsibility.
I am also an experienced Governess/nanny to a family of 6. I have worked for them full time in the summer and part time during the school year for 5 years. I am responsible for scheduling activities, providing summer enrichment (particularly in math and reading), transporting the children, and any other duties as assigned.
Finally, I have been working in the restaurant industry for the past 3 years. I started as a bartender and front of house manager at a small private country club, where I ran two restaurants as primary scheduler, inventory manager, and trainer. From there, I was hired as a bartender at a popular resort in our area and have been working there for two years.
My varied experience shows that I am capable of transferring my skillset to multiple areas, service-oriented, and excellent at anticipating the needs of my supervisors, customers, and other stakeholders.
I have a B.A. in Mathematical Economics (GPA: 3.87) and an M.Ed. in Secondary Education - Mathematics (GPA: 4.0) from Temple University.
