I previous worked as a water resources engineer and am passionate about melding my technical environmental background, my expertise in research and relationship building, and my commitment to the labor movement to simultaneously support material improvements for workers and address climate change.
I worked as a water resources engineer for two years before pursuing graduate school, where I have served as a researcher and instructor for the past 5 years. In between my master's and PhD, I worked at Greater Syracuse HOPE, an organization borne out of a New York State anti-poverty initiative. In that role, I developed and maintained relationships with 11 disparate community organizations and various state agencies.
I earned my bachelor of science in environmental resources engineering from SUNY-ESF in 2015 and my master of science in food studies from Syracuse University in 2019. I am currently a PhD candidate in sociology at Syracuse University and expect to graduate in May 2025.
