I have been working in the media industry for 20 years. I got my start at KCCI in Des Moines, Iowa starting out as a graphic artist and floor director. Eventually, I trained to be a director. In 2021, KCCI switched to automation. Slowly over the years, i became unhappy with the state of Iowa, so I decided to move. I currently work in Greenville, South Carolina where I learned how to call and punch a show. Over my 13 years directing, I've been apart of 2 newscasts that won Emmys, and in 2022, I received a nomination for best director.
I have been working in the media industry for 20 years. I started out as a graphic artist, and I worked in the studio running camera and acting as floor director. I trained to direct and became the weekend evening director. I filled in other shifts when needed. I picked up editing video as well for newscasts. While editing, I developed an interest in photojournalism, and KCCI trained me for it. I shot high school games (football and basketball), and I had shifts with reporters on the field as well.
I graduated from Iowa State University in 2003 with a degree in Mass Communications.
