A food scientist by day and world traveler by night. I have had the pleasure to further my education in food by putting myself outside of my comfort zone and exploring different countries and cultures. I have always had a mindset that understands the connections between traditions, heritage, and values are connected with their food and sharing a meal around a dinner table.
My experience in the food industry started as a shift leader at a well known fast food chain, Panda Express. In this position I truly learned the ins and outs of what it takes to successful and safely run an entire store front. Then I became a hostess at Lido Restaurant & Lounge, an exceptional fine dining experience. In each position I excelled and grew into roles of leadership. Being an employee that my managers used to train new hires and set as a model of an exemplary employee.
I am a graduate of California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science in Food Science with a concentration in Culinology. I am looking start my career in the food industry as a product developer or QA/QC technician, but I am open to other possibilities. I thrive when given challenges, for example my ability to problem solve and work effectively with a team when tasked to formulate a recipe for new or existing products.
In conclusion, I am ready to tackle, head on, the next career opportunity in my life, just as I have while traveling to a whole new continent on my own.
