IMy experience as a finalist in the Smart Snacks for Kids competition, hosted by the Institute of Food Technologists, further solidified my passion for innovation. I led the development of a beverage product, “Tepache Tornado,” which creatively combined traditional Mexican flavors with butterfly pea flower for an interactive, health-conscious drink. This product was selected for presentation at the 2024 IFT Annual Expo, highlighting my ability to take a project from concept to execution.
At UC Davis, I gained substantial expertise in food chemistry, food preservation, and sensory science. I have honed my skills in data analysis using R and Excel and developed proficiency with key laboratory equipment such as spectrophotometers, gas and liquid chromatography, and texture analyzers. My coursework, including advanced topics like food history and statistical analysis, has provided a solid foundation in the science behind food production and preservation.
