Lavanya Garg

Hi, my name is Lavanya Garg and I am a first year undergraduate student at Stern School of Business, NYU. I grew up in India and came to the US for college. Finance has always been fascinating to me; I believe I have a good informal understanding of Finance as my parents are real estate developers.

Currently, I am taking business classes and have decided to take Finance and Computer Science focussed courses in my Sophomore and Junior year. I particularly like Finance because it is a mix of both qualitative and quantitative analysis and I find myself thriving in the combination. At Stern, I am part of the Private Equity Group, which delves into concepts like M&A deals, Leverage Buyouts, and EBITDA multiples, widening my interest in Finance.

I'm eager to continue learning about Finance and gain more exposure in these years.

Real-estate arm of one of India’s leading infrastructure and development entities – the Adani Group

• Performed market research for a select-service hotel in Ahmedabad, India and presented findings to the senior management
• Responded to DD requests for a project, coordinated meetings, and took detailed site-visit and expert call notes

Non-banking financial company ($20B+ AUM) focused on lending, wealth management and insurance products in India

• Researched similar insurance products in the market and prepared a comparative report for senior team
• Coordinated zoom meetings for the Marketing team; assisted reporting manager in ad-hoc tasks 

I am a freshman at New York University (Stern School of Business) with an expected graduation in 2026. I am majoring in Business with my intended concentrations being Finance and Computing & Data Science.
