Having worked as a retail fishmonger for over 7 years, and working with food for nearly 2 decades. I care deeply for good quality food, sea life conservation and thrive in an environment where I can discuss and prepare fresh seafood with customers. I’m very proud of my knife skills and enjoy creating appealing fish displays with fresh seasonal fish.

I have a full UK driving license and I’m fully competent around computer word processing etc. I’m planning to relocate locally for work opportunities.

• Customer Facing, this role gave me experience in managing several part time staff and teaching them fishmongery skills. I gained experience with the overall running, opening and closing of the shop, Cashing up, giving customers the confidence to try different fish and expand their purchasing habits. Using till software, managing cleaning schedules, food hygiene and legal compliance.

• Working in a highly skilled role selling to high end customers. Working directly with suppliers sourcing the freshest quality seasonal fish, balancing margins and pricing, ensuring that all our clients’ needs are met to the highest possible standard. Preparing their Orders to their exact specification. From weekly regulars to bespoke one off seafood platters, recommending pairing produce and ingredients to compliment their fish, no two days are the same.

• Originally working alongside my post graduate degree, this role was customer facing and involved customer liaisoning and support, food grade hygiene standards, unloading and moving delivery , Setting up, packing away and cleaning a Fish counter. A fast paced working environment, in this role I became First Aid Qualified with the Red Cross and then moved departments to fishmongery in 2019.
