About

I began as a Donor Center Technician responsible for screening individuals by taking vitals and figure sticks to test hematocrit and protein levels. I quickly moved to Phlebotomist, certified, in which I performed venipunctures on a variety of people at different age ranges. I am trained in processing samples as well as plasma material.

During my externship I performed a variety of blood drawing procedures on patients including venipunctures using a 21/23 straight needle or winged infusion. Patients ranged in age from Adult to geriatrics and methods were used for each patient dependent on their need and comfort. Duties also included proper handling of tubes and placement after draw - including into the centrifuge if needed.

Dog Walker, Pet caretaker - Dogs Deserve It

As a part-time dog walker and caretaker, I am responsible for walking and providing medication to animals as requested by their owners. This involves maintaining good communication with owners throughout the appointment, providing medication to animals as instructed, and following a stringent timeline to ensure pets are cared for during the allotted time frame.

Graduate Teaching Assistant - University of South Florida, Tampa, FL - Tampa, FL

While working towards my PhD at USF, I held the position of Graduate Teaching Assistant. This position involved teaching undergraduate courses on the following topics:

As an instructor my responsibilities included forming the curriculum, assignments and exams for the semester as well as grading all assignments and exams. Throughout the semester, I held weekly office hours in which my students were able to discuss the material further and/or ask any questions relevant to the course. My courses generally begin with classic philosophical texts and have an application trajectory into more contemporary moral issues.

My duties as President included the following:

All administrative requirements in seeking funding for the organization.
I was responsible for recruiting and hosting events that involved outside sources, Professors, who would speak on behalf of their own research on minority communities, inciting further discussion and advocacy for minority voices.
I managed meetings solely focusing on ways in which graduate students can incorporate minority voices into their own classrooms.

Research Assistant - Institute for Software Research

After receiving my BA's, I volunteered to assist in a Grounded Theory Research project with a PhD student working at the Institute for Software Research at UC Irvine. Internship - CAST Child Abuse Prevention Center

At CAST I worked as a child advocate. My responsibilities included creating a positive and comfortable environment for children who came to CAST after experiencing physical and/or sexual abuse. These children were to be either interviewed by a social worker, treated medically, or involved in weekly talk therapy sessions.
