Throughout my career, I have primarily engaged in contract work, which has given me the versatility to take on various roles. Holding positions in customer service lead roles, domestic and international sales, my work spiked when I began my journey with HollyFrontier Sinclair, first as a buyer for one-third of HollyFrontier Sinclair's commodities, while individually managing turnaround procurement at the TA Superintendent's request. Between 2015 and 2022, I was offered three additional contract positions by the company.
During these 3- to 6-month assignments, I discovered my strengths in attention to detail, problem-solving, process implementation, data analytics, auditing, logistics, and operations—fields that I truly enjoy and wish to pursue further.
Now, I am ready to transition into a permanent role. My experiences in contract work have taught me valuable lessons, and I am looking for a collaborative workplace where I can contribute my skills while continuing to learn from others. I am instinctively driven to find ways for my team and myself to work smarter, not harder, often to a fault in my pursuit of efficiency.
While not typically highlighted in a skills list, I excel as a liaison between various stakeholders. Whether interacting internally or externally, effective communication is essential. I have worked on both sides and understand their expectations, striving to exceed them. Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial for building and maintaining successful relationships.
In any role, I am trusted to lead the resolution of both known and ad hoc problems. I welcome questions and maintain an open-door policy for communication. Effective problem-solving typically involves research in areas such as data analysis, auditing, account reconciliation, and collaboration with stakeholders.
Through my professional experiences, I have learned that solutions do not need to be elaborate. In fact, simple solutions can often prove to be more efficient, more acceptable, and easier to implement.
From June to December 2024, I attended a Data Analytics Boot Camp at TCC's Cyber School, where I gained comprehensive knowledge of various aspects of data. I have extensive experience with MS Office and consider myself an Excel enthusiast, as I create spreadsheets for nearly everything. When I learned about the program and received a scholarship, I didn’t hesitate to enroll.
I am eager to apply this newfound knowledge in my next position and am confident it will be an asset in any role or assignment I take on.
While my Bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma is invaluable, I believe that the skills I acquired at Cyber School are particularly relevant at this stage in my career.
