Previously, I worked as a senior project manager and had several commodity related project managers reporting to me. I believe this combined with an entrepreneurial mindset acquired as a business owner has provided me with key skills and experience needed for this position.

Communication and Teamwork - I am a co-founder of a business that teaches communication and collaboration skills to teams. I developed 5 communications based training programs and created a method for analyzing communication skills within teams using the gamification of learning.

Problem-Solving - As a Product Support Engineer at BE Aerospace I resolved over 40 product issues across 15 different airlines in under 2 years. At Volvo, I received 5 patent awards including a tractor-trailer gap and a turning vane device to improve vehicle aerodynamics.

Process-Improvement - At Volvo I reduced the time to retrieve documentation required for vehicle certification by implementing a new system and process for storing related files. This also prevented a possible fine of over $200,000.

2008 to 2019, 2022-Present – Engineering Leader – Volvo Trucks – Greensboro, NC 

• Recognized with ‘Volvo Achievement Award’ role in developing a system for certification classification over 30,000 trucks annually according to greenhouse gas regulatory requirements.
• Reduced the time to retrieve documentation by over 21 days (90% time savings) by creating a new database system for tracking FMVSS motor vehicle safety requirements and thus avoiding several possible $200,000 fines.
• Awarded 5 patents related to the design and utility of exterior components:

  2011 - Hood mounted mirror for a truck, A-pillar Air Deflector for a Truck, Side View Mirror Cover,

  2014 - Fairing for a Truck Cab-Trailer Gap, Air Deflector for a Vehicle A-Pillar and Side View Mirror

• Developed a process for checking the engineering bill of material structure resulting in 20% fewer errors.
