About

I’m Maya Jenkins, a dedicated Program Specialist and administrative professional with a passion for helping people, improving systems, and creating environments where others can succeed. My journey has been shaped by both professional determination and deeply personal resilience.

I live with lupus, and while it has brought challenges, it has also taught me adaptability, intention, and strength. It is why I value remote and flexible work not just for myself, but as a way to show that talented, committed professionals can thrive when given the space to work in ways that support their health and well‑being.

My background includes roles in higher education and state government, health field, CSR experience, and payroll management as well including my current position as a Program Specialist II at the Florida Department of Education. I bring experience in:

  • Program coordination & project organization
  • Administrative operations & workflow support
  • Student, stakeholder, and community engagement
  • Writing, documentation, and storytelling
  • Problem‑solving in fast‑moving environments
In closing, I am continuing to build a career that supports my health while allowing me to serve, organize, communicate, and create. Whether it’s supporting programs, coordinating operations, writing meaningful content, or helping teams run smoothly. I bring purpose, empathy, and resilience to every space I am in.

Experience

I am a dedicated Program Specialist and Administrative Professional with experience supporting large‑scale educational programs, state‑level initiatives, and student‑centered services. Skilled in program coordination, workflow management, stakeholder communication, and process improvement across both higher education and government environments. Known for balancing multiple priorities, improving operational efficiency, and providing high‑quality support to students, staff, and community partners.

Strong background in documentation, reporting, case management, training support, and policy‑aligned program administration. Adept at working with diverse populations, managing sensitive information, and maintaining accuracy and compliance in fast‑paced settings. Experienced in navigating complex organizational structures and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to advance program goals.

Education

I am currently continuing my higher education at the University of Phoenix, where I am completing foundational coursework in preparation for entering the Paralegal Studies program. I am on track to officially transfer into the paralegal program this summer locally here at a state college, where I will begin focused studies in legal research, writing, ethics, and foundational law. This academic path aligns with my interest in law, advocacy, and structured problem‑solving, and it supports my long‑term career goals in legal services and administrative justice.
