Import Operations, CHB at Rohclem Corporation (2004-12 – Present)
- Worked as a main point of contact for importers, overseas suppliers and carriers.
- Assist importers with researching ways to cut shipping costs while making sure that the quality of service is not compromised.
- Assist importers with the review of the shipping documents – commercial invoice, packing list, ocean bill of lading, certificate of origin etc. – to ensure that the required information for US Customs clearance is listed.
- Assist importers in classifying their commodity via HTUSA and FDA Product Code
- Assist importers in cargo clearance with Customs and Border Protection, Food and Drug Administration and United States Department of Agriculture. To include filing ISF, CBP Entries and FDA Prior Declaration
- Assist importers with any government inspection – VACIS, FDA, US Coast Guard and USDA/APHIS
- Upon request, negotiate costs for trucking service, warehouse storage.
- Assist truckers with any issues at the port, rail or border crossing to avoid any delays and/or additional storage fees.
- Track and trace consolidated and full container (air, ocean and land) shipments to ensure timely delivery. Always up to date importers or buyers of any update of the delivery.
Export Operations at Rohclem Corporation (2004-12 – Present)
- Negotiate container and consolidated export rates and inland rates for cargo.
- Secure export booking, full container and consolidated, based on the availability of the shipment.
- Coordinate cargo pickup and delivery of the shipment with the trucker.
- File AES for the shipment.
- Submit the required ocean bill of lading to the steamship line.
- If required by the country of destination, provide documentation legalization services for Certificate of Origin, Phytosanitary Certificate, Commercial Invoice etc…
- Proofread the export documents before forwarding the set to the overseas buyer or consignee.
