Miranda Flanders Blanks

Hello, my name is Miranda Flanders-Blanks. I am an experienced teacher with several years of experience. I take pride in nurturing and guiding students to develop a love for learning that will enhance their ability to become contributing members of their community.

I also love blending innovative and traditional methods of teaching that make learning exciting for students and engaging for parents. I have a Master’s degree from the TESOL program at Boricua College and my Bachelor’s degree is from the College of New Rochelle.

My TESOL degree is designed to give teachers a better understanding of the learning process of students for whom English is a second language. I would like to have the opportunity to meet you and explore any teaching opportunities you might have available.

I have taught in public and private schools for over 10 years. Here are some of the responsibilities I had as a teacher.

~ Established and communicated clear objectives for all subjects, lessons, units, and projects to grades 1, 3, 4, 5, & 6.

~Planned and conducted activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.

Developed individual educational plans (IEPs) designed to promote students’ educational,

physical, or social development.

~Conferred with parents, administrators, testing specialists, social workers, or other professionals to develop individual education plans (IEPs).

~Prepared classrooms with a variety of materials or resources for children to explore,

manipulate, or use in learning activities or imaginative play.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts & a Master's in TESOL (Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages.)
