I am board certified in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics, with deep interests in clinical molecular testing, particularly in oncology, hematology and hereditary predisposition to cancers. I am also passionate about integrating diagnostic practice with research.
I am currently working as a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health, where I perform research on Neurofibromatosis type 2-related Schwannomatosis. My work involves the generation and analysis of whole genome sequencing data from germline and tumor samples. I have hands-on experience in running Nextflow bioinformatics pipelines on HPC clusters, working within Python and Shell environments, to execute and troubleshoot analyses, along with interpretation of variants.
I recently achieved board certification in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics through the ABMGG, having completed the training program at the National Human Genome Research Institute. Prior to my current role, I gained extensive clinical experience in a referral molecular hematology laboratory at Christian Medical College, Vellore, India where I interpreted and reported leukemia cases and benign hematological disorders, and contributed to laboratory management and quality control.
