I am writing to express my interest in the chef position, advertised as being open at this time. I am highly motivated, organized and well-educated culinary professional with over 20 years of verifiable culinary management work experience. Empowerment leadership capabilities, creative, up service attitude and strong business sense and leading by example management approach.
My experience includes 6 years as a restaurant sous chef in a high-end Caribbean fusion restaurant, 2 years as a banquet sous chef in a resort hotel with a convention center, 5 years as a culinary instructor, 2 years as a chef de cuisine in a catering operation, 2 years as executive sous chef in food and nutrition facility and 4 years as Executive Chef in a cruise line operation. I also have experience as a food purchasing coordinator and pastry chef de partie.
I possess an associate degree in chef technology, occupational degree in culinary art and a vocational degree in marketing. I am also ServeSafe certified and Florida Food Safety certified. I am adept at preparing menus and overseeing kitchen operations and able to work with clients to determine what menus and service will best fit their needs and budget.
The ability to deliver results must be complimented with a persistent promotion of values like humility, responsibility, flexibility, discipline, common sense, tolerance, and temperance. Being raised in a country farm by traditional thinking parents in combination with the exposure to volunteering in humanity work and the experience that I have gain as a chef instructor, working with deficient characters and low ethical standard students had push me to become a role-model for many of them.
