Patricha Broadus

I am a current first-year student at American University studying business. I have worked in the amusement and recreation industry as a lifeguard for over two years and in animal care as a kennel assistant for one year.

I work as a lifeguard for the City of Maryland Heights when I return to my hometown during breaks. I ensure patron safety by maintaining pool rules and being able to respond quickly to emergencies. Duties include maintaining a clean facility, providing basic first aid, and preventing accidents.

I have also worked as a kennel assistant for Elm Point Animal Hospital, where I provided care for the basic needs of all animals. Duties included working with a team to fill out charts and keep them updated, communicating regularly with customers, walking, exercising, and feeding animals at the specified times, and observing behavioral differences.

I am a first-year student at American University studying in the Kogod School of Business. I am interested in holding a management or other leadership role in my future career.
