I have a master’s degree in Family Counseling, and more than thirty-four years of customer service experience, as an Army Chaplain. I would like to utilize my combined experience, as a Benefit Specialist, UIS2, with my management, leadership, and technical skills to contribute to this position. I enjoy helping people to get the benefits they deserve to find jobs, bridge gaps in employment, and provide medical assistance where needed.
I worked at Brook Army Medical Center (A Level I Trauma Center), assigned to ER, Burn Unit, Cancer Units, as well as rotating through other wards. Working with long term patients and their families. I worked as part of the interdisciplinary team, helping to treat the whole person. Using my skills and training as well as resources available to me, I have been able bring hope to the patients and families.
I have been trained in Fact-Finding and Adjudication through NASWA, trained in client/customer interviewing, analysis, and review of document, email, and voice conversations. I spent the last year as an Intake Specialist with ESD working in intake. I enjoy helping people, meeting their needs, and solving their problems. Through compassion and patience, we can help our customers with information about all the resources and support we can offer. It brings me great joy when I can equip an individual to better themselves. I look forward to using my computer, communication, and critical thinking skills to explain programs, to explain program participation requirements and complete enrollments as appropriate.
Chaplain for thirty plus years.
