Robert Prehn, PhD, currently serves as an Executive Director of Behavioral Health Services for Signet Health Corp.
His former roles include: Consultant, Resource CEO and Senior Associate with the Cawley Johnson Group, a leading national consulting and hospital management firm, Administrator of the Baton Rouge Behavioral Hospital, President and CEO of the Moody Neurorehabilitation Institute specializing in rehabilitation for Acquired Brain Injury and Traumatic Brain Injury patients operating four facilities in Texas, CEO of Poydras Home, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in New Orleans that includes Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing Care, Memory Care/Alzheimers Program, Day Program and Home Care. Dr Prehn also served as the psychiatric and post-acute executive for the Lake Charles Memorial Healthcare System in southwest Louisiana, where he was Vice President of Specialty Services, leading behavioral health, long term acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, home health and wound care/hyperbaric medicine and as Senior Vice President of Operations for the General Health System and CEO of their for-profit subsidiaries: General Living Centers (4 nursing homes), General Home Health (2 regional home health agencies) and Behavioral Health Inc (8 behavioral health facilities in TX and LA).
Dr Prehn has 35 years of CEO experience in psychiatric/behavioral health hospitals as well as physical rehabilitation hospitals, outpatient clinics, long term acute care hospitals, home health agencies, wound care/hyperbaric medicine clinics and general hospitals, leading both for-profit (Charter Medical, UHS, HealthSouth, RehabCare, Kindred Healthcare) and non-profit organizations.
He also has over 21 years of healthcare consulting experience and has taught psychology and healthcare policy at the university level (LSU, UNC, UNC-W) where his research focused on senior health issues, patient satisfaction, physician relations and strategic planning. He has authored over 25 publications in professional journals and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
