I work as a Microbiology Lab Tech, mostly with microbiome studies, for the Huber Lab at West Virginia State University Research and Development Corp. The lab is currently working on microbiome analysis to assess the impact of human activities on river sediment ecosystems, among other projects. This research focuses on how different contaminants and microbial communities affect methane production, and I am contributing to making strides in understanding pollutant stress responses.
DNA sequencing processes and their subsequent analysis utilizing advanced analytical techniques like QIIME2, JMP, KBase, and R are the field of my expertise.
I have three years of research lab experience in environmental sampling, microbial DNA extraction, their purification, and quantification, and the eventual data study.
Master's in Biotechnology with a focus on environmental and molecular microbiology.
