Samantha Torres

I'm a recent college graduate with a bachelor's degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations. I've previously interned for nonprofits like Love in the Mirror and First Descents. I'm highly passionate about nonprofit work and hope to continue to work for nonprofits and further refine my skills as a communications professional.

My current professional experience as a Marketing and Communications intern for First Descents, a nonprofit organization, has allowed me to pursue my passion for nonprofits, event planning, community outreach, and public outreach. As an intern, I assist in content creation through Photoshop and Canva, draft e-newsletters, create and post content across several social media platforms, and help revamp current and new marketing campaigns. I manage communication with donors and sponsors, maintain communication with all stakeholders, and support the marketing team with content management.

As a Fundraising and Event Planning Intern for Love in the Mirror, a nonprofit organization, I created content for their social media page and handled communication with vendors. This experience has enabled me to handle multiple projects simultaneously, effectively manage, and oversee all written and verbal communication of stakeholders.

I have recently earned my bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis on public relations at California State University, Fullerton.
