Over the past 15 years, I’ve gained a deep understanding of counter-terrorism efforts, Islamic extremism analysis, and honed a deep knowledge of peace and conflict in Afghanistan. While it is true I have studied terrorism, Islamic extremism, political Islam, Wahabi, and Salafi ideologies, it’s also true that I’ve experienced them first hand, growing up in Afghanistan. Sadly, I’ve seen how people are indoctrinated and how youth are groomed to be terrorists.
It’s also true that I’ve spent my life fighting against this type of extremism, and it is my hope to continue this work in the US.
