Responsible for the identification and development of corporate relationships/businesses with companies located in Arkansas. Maintain relationships with state legislators.
Planning, implementing, and attending public relations events including business expos, job fairs community and non-profit events, educational programs, and other special events. Develop and maintain relationships with the fifty plus Chambers of Commerce organizations around the state that DSB is a member of, including the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce.
See that all chamber memberships are paid and up to date. Keep updated with business, economic, and community affairs so that the low vision and blind community are positively impacted and to minimize any adverse impact to the community. Build chamber relationships.
Maintain positive relationships with all aspects of the Department of Workforce Services and the Arkansas Economic Development Commission so that the low vision and blind community are or the ground floor of perspective employment opportunities. Advocate state rehabilitation and blind services to state legislators. Collaborate with state agencies on benefits of working with blind services and rehabilitation services.
Collaborate with Arkansas Dislocated Workers Unit-Rapid Response to help ease the burden of layoffs and plant shutdowns to Arkansas residents, including low vision and blind by assisting with Worker Assistance Workshops.
Achieved an 11% increase in DSB clients getting hired in the last 3 year.
