Steven Taylor

I am a biochemistry major from Purdue University who previously worked for St. Catherine's Hospital in East Chicago, IN for 9 years as a Medical Laboratory Scientist. I took on a senior role as the evening shift senior tech for 2 of those years. Currently, I am volunteering at several outdoor venues in northwest Indiana to learn more about invasive plant species removal and general site maintenance.

I worked for 9 years as a generalist in the hospital laboratory in the areas of chemistry, hematology, blood banking, urinalysis, and microbiology at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, IN. As the senior technologist on the evening shift, I was tasked with organization of supplies and physical patient medical data, as well as mitigating potentially stressful interactions between coworkers and other hospital staff, and helping coordination between the off-shift staff and management.

I received a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Purdue University, Lafayette in 2013, and I passed the ASCP board exam for Medical Laboratory Science in 2015.
