I have lived in midwest, west, and southern parts of United States and traveled internationally a great deal. I enjoy music, being in and appreciating nature, drawing, and playing board games. My career started in business, marketing and sales and shifted to social work and educational leadership. I am good at navigating new settings, being flexible with coworkers and clients, and have been professionally rewarded for innovative ideas, programs, and community collaboration.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Idaho) and Licensed Independent Social Worker-Supervisor (Ohio). Professionally, I enjoy traveling, learning, facilitating groups, and working with individuals. I've taught in university settings and led study away and study abroad trips for undergraduate and graduate students.
My career directing marketing research projects, then selling pharmaceuticals, and returned to school to pursue a Master of Social Work. I have extensive training in mindfulness, cognitive behavioral interventions, trauma and crisis, and existential psychotherapies. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults in acute inpatient, residential treatment, justice systems, schools, and outpatient settings.
I have developed and taught courses in education and family science/social work. I led multiple study away and study abroad courses designed for undergraduate and graduate students.
I have an undergraduate degree in business from Indiana University, a graduate social work degree (MSW) from The Ohio State University, and PhD in Educational Leadership from Miami University. About two years after graduating with an MSW, I applied for and then completed a years long social work fellowship/clinical training at the The University of New Mexico. I enjoy teaching and learning.
