Tirth Mehta

I am writing to express my interest in a summer internship position in technology, data science, or software development at your esteemed organization. I am an incoming freshman at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), where I will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, with a strong interest in Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and FinTech.

Over the past few years, I have built a strong foundation in Python programming and machine learning. I am a Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer (PCEP-30-02), and I have authored a book to help others earn this certification, now published on Amazon. I also won the Best Use of TinyMCE award at a 24-hour hackathon. These experiences honed my skills in teamwork, fast learning, and building impactful applications.

In addition to technical projects, I have led educational workshops for younger students and volunteered extensively, earning the President’s Volunteer Service Award (Gold). I am now eager to gain hands-on experience in a real-world setting to grow my understanding of how technology shapes business, finance, and society.

I am particularly interested in opportunities that allow me to collaborate with a team, learn from professionals, and contribute to meaningful projects, even in a supportive or shadowing capacity

EduQuest 

May 2024

• Collaborated in a 24-hour hackathon with the main theme being education.
• Created a gamified version of Google Classroom, enabling teachers to assign tasks and reward points for student accomplishments, which could be used to customize avatars.
• Awarded "Best Use of TinyMCE" out of 27 competing teams.

Exoplanet Detection

May 2024

• Developed a machine learning model to detect exoplanets using Python.
• This is designed to predict the likely presence of exoplanets from star data with a variety of machine learning/deep learning algorithms.
• Used multiple models like Decision tree, K-nearest Neighbors (KNN) and Logical regression models.

Ramipril and Hypertension

Jun 2024

• This program is aimed at predicting how effective Ramipril, an ACE inhibitor for hypertension, is and its properties in general using ML Models.
• This machine learning model uses one of the Random Forest predictors to model dependencies of the reference drug properties efficacy to the drug under treatment properties.
