Assist in civil litigation law firm specializing in personal injury, worker’s compensation, automobile accidents, wrongful death, products liability, insurance claims/fraud, and social security disability. Ability to assist in all aspects from client intake through trial and/or appeal process.
Responsibilities include preparing deposition and medical records outlines and summaries; pleadings; court filings (motions, orders, affidavits, etc.); drafting and obtaining discovery; obtaining, compiling and accurately interpreting client medical records and bills for medical, settlement and mediation packages and the preparation thereof; all phases of complex case management with diary system, from acquisition through trial and/or settlement; all phases of social security disability case management including applications and appeals through hearing level; daily contact with clients to gather and process information; preparing and filing of legal briefs to Circuit, Appellate and Supreme Courts; drafting and filing Wills, Durable Powers of Attorney and Estates (Letters of Administration, Conservatorships and Bonds) in Probate Court; scheduling of depositions, mediations, sworn statements and client appointments; assisting in trial preparation including drafting exhibit and witness lists, issuing subpoenas, and preparing pretrial Orders; drafting voir dire, jury instructions and marking exhibits; and,
maintaining and coordinating attorney court schedules, deadlines and appointments.
