Zoe Hansen

Zoe Hansen is a versatile illustrator who has created engaging and original graphics for various brands under Dotdash Meredith, a leading digital media company. She works on editorial illustrations, infographic illustrations, and other visual content for online platforms such as Parents, Better Homes and Gardens, Investopedia, and Verywell Health/Mind.

She graduated with a bachelor's degree in illustration from Ringling College of Art and Design, where she honed her design and drawing skills and learned how to solve creative problems effectively. She has also exhibited her work in prestigious galleries and events, such as Van Der Plas Gallery's Art Fair Carnivalesque and Illest of Illustration Gallery. She is proficient in graphic design, photography, and digital tools, and is always eager to learn new techniques and explore new styles.

She is passionate about storytelling and communicating ideas through art, and strives to produce high-quality and impactful work that meets the needs and expectations of her clients and audiences.

Assigned and completed illustrations for publications such as, Parents, Better Homes and Gardens, Verywell Health, Verywell Mind, Verywell Fit, and Investopedia.

• Designed and illustrated visual assets as a part of DotDash-Meredith's Visual Asset Team for many of their clients and verticals. Learned how to adapt styles for different jobs assigned such as medical illustrations and editorial illustrations for news articles.
• As an illustrator on the team, Successfully followed brand guidelines and formatted illustrations to look professional. Composed illustrations to fit the needs of the clients and verticals assigned, professionally communicating with colleagues, editors, and art directors on branded projects.
• Created content that is appealing through composition, color, and typography. Has advanced knowledge in drawing, sketching, painting, and the organization of graphic design and art elements. Worked in a fast-paced environment while creating time sensitive illustration and design pieces.

Worked on several medical illustration projects for Dotdash-Meredith’s health brands including Health.com, Verywell Health, and Verywell Mind.

• For Verywell Health, successfully drew and created several medical illustrations as part of a perscription drugs index project. Maintained brand consistency through stylistic design and illustration choices.
• For Health.com, Illustrated medical conditions for health articles explaining such conditions. Learned how to draw organs accurately and properly in a timely fashion. Worked with senior editors to properly format illustrations.
• Researched and executed illustrations for Verywell Mind to explain medical issues in the mental health community with accurate and easy to understand conceptual illustrations.

• Curated styles to match client’s requests, from cartoon style portraits to packaging design for a beer brand. Highly skilled at 2D drawing and 2D illustration.
• Hired for logo designs as well as brand design, creating identities for various types of small businesses. Gained and applied strong conceptual design skills while working on different design projects.
• Presented and conveyed different ideas through a wide range of graphic design and Illustration styles.

I was an Illustration major at Ringling College of Art and Design and obtained my BFA in Illustration graduating the year of 2021. During my schooling I took many rigorous illustration, design, drawing, and painting classes to master the arts of design and drawing and how to implement these assets into my professional art and design work. This program helped me to master programs like adobe photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and other design platforms.
