I have been in the labour relations and labour law environment for 9 years and counting, labour relations is the core of any organisation, in ensuring that conducive work environments for both employers, and employees are created. The negligence of the labour relations component within any organisation, indicates the non- adherence to; not only international labour law prescripts, our national labour law prescripts, as enshrined by the supreme law of the country, i.e. the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa. My passion is therefore, to ensure that conducive work environments are created and sustained through the application of South African labour law prescripts, and with the experience i have obtained.
I currently work as a Negotiator -Collective Bargaining at a national level in both the public and private sectors. My current employer is the Health and Other Services Personnel Trade Union of South Africa (HOSPERSA). Previously served as a Collective Bargaining Officer for the Public Health and Social Development Sectoral Bargaining Council (PHSDSBC) for six years of my employee relations career.
I have also worked as a Labour Relations Clerk for the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) where I initially started as an intern in the Directorate for Labour Relations.
