I am a GIS Technician with over 6 years’ experience, seeking a challenging position in geospatial data management and analysis. Excels in fast-paced environments and has a keen attention to detail. Possesses strong communication skills and creative problem-solving abilities from previous work experience. Proficient in ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online and QGIS software for developing GIS databases, data creation and data analysis. Personal interest in data quality, web mapping, and database maintenance.
I am currently studying through ESRI to complete a Diploma in GISc&T to register with the South African Geomatics Council
Map production and analysis (spatial, socio-economic and economic) for:
o Spatial Development Frameworks o Long Term Plans o Densification Policies o Land Use Schemes
● Receiving, collecting and organizing data from a wide variety of sources such as land records, site plans, civil engineering drawings, etc.
● Electronically managing, storing, updating, manipulating and analyzing geographically referenced information by converting, importing, exporting, creating and editing data while performing detailed inspections of data for accuracy and quality.
● Address matching & geocoding
● Drafted proofread various documentation, township applications, and correspondence
● Created working and presentation-quality maps for planning and decision-making.
Data capturing (including field survey data), acquisition, checking, cleaning, digitizing.
● Handle enquiries regarding planning information.
● Disseminate planning information by means of printing maps, e-mailing data, as well as copying data on a CD/ DVD. GIS data capturing using Arc Maps 10 Esri software, assessing building plans, using SG diagrams.
