My skill-set and varied experience in the IT field is very diverse and relevant in today’s ever changing and evolving IT sector. My hard-earned strengths have come from many years of experience and diligent work.
Currently I am employed as a third line support engineer for Global Network Solutions in Durban

We work out solutions for our clients, manage servers and ensure that our clients are always recieving the best we have to offer in terms of IT solutions. I have been exposed to number environments during my time at GNS… This includes various server setups/environments, VoIP setups, Omni server setups, MS Azure and many more.
I was employed as the sole IT Manager for five branches at Northside Electrical for a total of five years; one of the largest electrical supply stores in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Here I am the main decision maker for their IT infrastructure. My responsibilities include: handling their network, VPN,
VoIP, Social media marketing, hardware requirements and site evaluations for new system setups. I have setup their Linux servers (CentOS) and manage their P.O.S system. I have also upgraded their
VoIP connection to Fibre and developed a stronger relationship with their ISP. In addition, I have designed and updated their website to what it is presently and updated the security of their host.
(CPanel to Hetzner).
I am also a free-lance entrepreneur and my business (Tech4Tat est.2010) deals with IT (Web Design,
graphics, VoIP, Repairs and custom-built PC’s). Tech4Tat is my personal project and it gives me the opportunity to stimulate myself with new technological challenges.
I started off as a junior-level software developer in CITI-BANK- Sandton working on C++ systems. My colleagues consisted of eight other developers and a team leader. This experience has given me the opportunity to develop skills as a team player in a diverse environment.
Thereafter I accepted a post as a Hardware Technician in a biometric security company based in
Ballito. My ability to exceed expectations quickly earned me the promotion of Operations Manager in a short span of a year. My responsibilities included: managing and mentoring a team of technicians and supervising them on callouts. Meeting and developing relationships with clients as well as customer support, were a major part of my role at this company of which I excelled at.
Thereafter I accepted a post in a large agriculture company based in Shaka’s Head- Ballito, as an
Intermediate I.T Administrator. As the only “in-house” IT professional, there were a lot of pressure within such a post. My ability to manage stress and stay focused assisted me to overcome the challenges I faced. Initially the company’s IT infrastructure was very poor and over the three years that I’d been there, I transformed it to a high-functioning and thriving working environment. Some of the improvements entailed: vital data automatically backed up onto clouds that I developed,
hosted PABX systems between branches which I’ve networked, wireless line-of-site networks between their farms and a server that enabled real-time capturing for up to eight users within a single DB (Cane-Pro) over a 200km radius. I set up the networks and VPN’s within the new branches reducing their IT expenditure and increasing work-flow. I also handled menial tasks such as hardware/software installations and repairs.
I've acquired 15 years of experience throughout my IT career and I believe that the knowledge I’ve gained over the years has given me the advantage to adapt well in any IT environment. I am more than capable of being a team-player and a leader. My positive outlook and attitude help me to motivate myself to constantly achieve and succeed even through adversities. Given the chance, I am confident that I can adapt and thrive in a new environment.
