Hello, my name is Gianna Prince, who aspires to be a baker of my own business in the future.
I am looking for a part-time position for the Registered Apprentice Program. The school allows me to have a flexible schedule for part-time work during the day from Monday through Friday but I have open availability during the week except for Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.
I worked hard to make a name for myself such as focusing on my education in Connections For Learning High School, current Grade 12 student. Recently, I have gotten a Honorary Citizenship Award for being consistent and positive contributions to the school environment throughout the 2022-2023 school year.
I have been with the 299 Mackenzie Sea Cadets since 2019. In 2021, High Cadet Standard Award recipient. I have been promoted 4 times while at 299 Mackenzie. Twice in 2022: Leading Cadet and Master Cadet. Twice in 2023: Petty Officer 2nd Class and Petty Officer 1st Class. I have been taught how to perform public speaking skills and leadership skill development from my cadet corp and taking an Enhanced Staff Cadet Training. With my training, I have helped with participating to teach other cadets skills and history.
I have participated in the Nikaniw Indigenous Aquatic Leadership program with the City of Edmonton since 2019. I have been taught water safety, first aid and CPR. I have passed Bronze Cross and Bronze Medallion exams and I have been given a First Aid Skill Award recipient in 2022 and Leadership Award recipient in 2023. Nikaniw has also provided me with a variety of cultural teachings and cooking for the group participants as a life skill course.
Recently, I have gotten support and guidance from the Registered Apprenticeship Program coordinator Mike Partington to help achieve my goals by finding a job to be a baker's assistant. The scholarship can help achieve my dreams of becoming a baker by taking baking courses to help me gain skill, knowledge and experience to join the baking/culinary program at NAIT university.
I have no work experience yet. But from the programs I have been apart of I developed skills such as leadership dedication and first aid.
I am currently a Grade 12 student at Connections For Learning. I am looking for a part-time job that qualifies for the Registered Apprenticeship Program for my future career as a baker.
