About
I am writing this cover letter to express my interest in the part-time Registration Clerk position at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. My knowledge and abilities from two years of previous clerical experience at the Collingwood Women’s Health Clinic, in combination with my proximity to CGMH through my volunteering history on both the surgical floor and the recovery unit lend me to be a candidate with ready and transferable skills. My previous clerical experience within the medical field refined my skillset in terms of: patient confidentiality, becoming efficient with software and patient databases, time management and triaging priorities; as well an understanding of the workplace culture within the medical field.
Furthermore, from my employment experience as a Provincial Park Warden I am well-versed in accurate paperwork and documentation practices, professionalism, organization, and confidentiality. I also became the first elected Health & Safety Representative for my place of work, following advocacy for my workplace and the safety of those in it. I am currently enrolled at the University of Toronto in my final year of study, majoring in Industrial Relations and Human Resources.
I attend school two days a week, and am therefore expressing interest in this part-time position. The CGMH is an environment I’ve already had the privilege of making a small contribution to, and I look forward to upholding and promoting values of compassion, empathy, and dignity. I look forward to further discussing my qualifications in an interview.
