Jonathan is a drama therapist who works with people of all ages to help them with symptoms of anxiety, grief, depression, and his specialty, anger.
Jonathan also carries with him experience from the emergency room at the Montreal Children’s Hospital where he provided crisis interventions and suicide assessments and his time at the McGill Domestic Violence Clinic where he helped perpetrators and victims make changes in their lives. These experiences have given Jonathan unique tools that can help a client find their own motivation for change and develop patterns that foster self-reliance, positive feelings like joy and gratitude, and an understanding of limits and boundaries. Jonathan is also experienced in running therapy groups and uses a combination of drama therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing when working with clients.
Jonathan holds a graduate certificate in play therapy and offers sessions that can help children learn healthy limits, respond positively to limit setting, explore their feelings, and overcome their obstacles.
Jonathan’s approach is warm, non judgemental, and always moves at the client’s pace. He believes that trust, reliability, and respect are at the foundation of any relationship and is eager to see his clients find their own motivations for change and the “a-ha!” Moments that spur on their growth
